Czech Language Courses for Healthcare Professionals

Foreign healthcare professionals play a key role in the Czech healthcare system – and understanding the Czech language is essential for effective communication with both patients and colleagues.
Join our Czech language courses designed specifically for healthcare workers. These courses will prepare you practically and efficiently for working in a Czech medical environment.

Course Details

  • Duration: 2 months
  • Total instruction time: 54 hours
  • Classes: twice a week, each session lasts 3 hours
  • Format: online (from the comfort of your home)
  • Course fee: 7,900 CZK
  • Levels offered: from absolute beginners (A1) to advanced (A2, B1, B2+)

The courses are based on new teaching materials developed by IPVZ specifically for medical professionals. The focus is on the language skills needed in everyday medical practice – vocabulary, comprehension, communication with patients, and medical documentation.

Free Course Option

Thanks to the project “Language and Professional Preparation of Foreign Healthcare Workers 2”, eligible participants can attend the course completely free of charge.

Preparatory Courses Before the Recognition Exam

The Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education (IPVZ) regularly organizes preparatory courses for foreign healthcare professionals preparing for the recognition (approbation) exams.
Courses are held twice a year and focus on topics needed for both the written and oral parts of the exam.

Why participate?

Graduates of these courses have up to 50% higher success rates in individual parts of the exam. Courses are taught by experienced instructors and cover key professional topics that frequently appear in the tests. Since 2019, a special First Aid course has also been included.

Free Participation and Financial Support Options

Under the project “Language and Professional Preparation of Foreign Healthcare Workers 2”, participants may:

  • attend the preparatory courses completely free of charge,

  • receive up to 50,000 CZK in financial support for the practical part of the exam,

  • and have the registration fee for the first exam attempt covered.

  • Classes are conducted in Czech – at least basic Czech knowledge is required

  • Interpreters are not provided

  • The course fee must be paid in advance – either by bank transfer or in cash at the ILF Hotel cashier
